Jack,
Thanks for appreciating the bowl while it lasted. As with many potters, I'm sad to see one of my pots broken, as you said, "in such a way that it wouldn't be soup-proof." However, the bright side is that there is now room for another, if not better pot, for your cupboard. I'll be thinking of you the next time I have an opportunity to join a wood-firing, and hoping for a pleasing replacement, I'll be sure to have another bowl in there just for you.
